Barbados FlagOfficially adopted in 1966 on the very first day of Barbados independence, their flag is quite a sporty looking number! Two bands of blue and one of yellow with a broken trident in the centre. The trident symbol originated from Barbados' colonial badge this is significant as on that Britannia is holding the trident. This is deliberately shown on the current flag as a symbolic break from its status as a colony. The flag has a white strip on the side
