Traditionally, these salt shakers are said to have been made as glassware from leftovers from the kiln. However, a few turn up with official Holmegaard labels on them, so they must have been sold from Holmegaard's factory outlet. The salt cellar naturally depicts Holmegaard's logo, the white mute swan, designed in the 1920s. The entire figure is blue, similar to
