Faure: Elegie Op. 24 and Sicilienne Op. 78Peters Urtext Edition, edited by Roy Howat. Faure's Elegie, Op. 24, arose from an unfinished sonata for Cello and Piano. A short piece, it begins with a somber and memorable melody, followed by a fast climax in the middle before returning to the original melody at the end. This piece was orchestrated by the composer, and it was also transcribed for Viola by Lionel Tertis.
