Sincerely yours, D." Debussy alludes to Dante Gabriel Rossetti's poem 'The Blessed Damazel.' It was this poem which was the inspiration for Debussy's "La demoiselle lue" (1888), a cantata for two soloists, female choir, and orchestra.
