Chinese Ink Stone with Walnut Case (antique)Purchased in China in 1960's, this ink stone is in the shape of a peach for good luck. Chinese ink is in solid form and is ground down in the well of the ink stone and mixed with water for use with a calligraphy brush. There is a traditional poem engraved on the reverse of the stone (see photo). The bespoke casing is in walnut wood with a lovely patina.
